In September of 2008, David Brundage began work as the Executive Director of the Camp.  His selection is part of a vision to not only continue the ministry of King Solomon, but expand it as well.  Summer camps will remain the heart of the work, but the  hope is to make King Solomon a tool for building up families and churches year round.  David will bring a unique combination of skills and vision that we believe can help the camp move forward in years to come.

David comes to the camp after a four-year stint in Houston, Texas as Sr. Pastor of Providence Christian Church.  “While I was in Houston,” he says, “I saw so many families falling apart.  Marriages were collapsing.  Children were essentially raising themselves.  Biblical standards for the home were ignored or completely unknown!  I was compelled to try to make a difference.”  Out of that compulsion grew new focuses in ministry.  Programs like “Marriage Rescue” and “Relationships 101” were developed to teach God’s plans for marriage and family.  Then, David says, that still wasn’t enough.  “I saw that the people in my church were benefiting in their homes- and I began to wonder if this could be something that could be enlarged.”  That’s when David began exploring the possibility of working with KSCC to expand her ministries.  He has been connected with the camp since 1986, when he first attended a Sr. High camp.  Since then, David has served on staff at many camps ultimately working as a Dean, Vice President of the Camp Board, and Chair of the Program and Development Committee.
